The plan-volumes and aesthetic characters of Cittadella della Salute were studied to realise an architectonic element where the public function could be easily recognized and, at the same time, to enrich the surrounding spaces.
The cover has an opposite inclination compared to the one of Giovanni Michelucci’s Church. The highest part of the Cittadella’s cover corresponds to the lowest of the other one. Two architectonic elements facing each other in order to create a portal effect of coming in and going out from the Florentine plane visible from anyone travelling across the highway.
