The project for Palazzo Alberti, headquarters of Banca CARIPRATO, nowadays Banca Popolare di Vicenza, intervened on the indoor spaces of the building in order to realise new layouts able to increase the functional skills. Design choices had been influenced by the analysis of the users’ flows. As a result, the building is divided into three separate areas: the bank’s head office, the field offices and the area for the Art Gallery that is close to the administration and management offices. The reorganization of the space prevents functional interferences and allows the Art Gallery to live independently from the Bank.
The building’s functional flexibility had been enhanced by the construction of a new staircase in a glazed inner courtyard. The staircase, thanks to its ramps with different shapes and inclinations, creates an unusual composition of pure volumes, overlooked by a glazing roof that highlights and amplifies the cascade of light that floods on the entire space.
