RENOVATION AND INTERIOR DESIGN OF PRIVATE RESIDENCE
Overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Como, this 300-square-meter summer residence, spread over four levels, unfolds as an intimate and thoughtfully composed domestic narrative. It is a home designed to be lived in every day, yet it preserves the slow rhythm and lightness of a vacation retreat. With a carefully calibrated, timeless architectural language, every detail is crafted to engage with the daily life of its inhabitants—welcoming and supporting them with bespoke wooden elements, designer furnishings, curated artworks, and an abundance of natural light.
The intervention maintained the original spatial distribution while redefining the overall quality of living. The shared goal with the client was to transform the apartment into a personal home that harmoniously blends everyday comfort with the atmosphere of a holiday escape.
The apartment’s renewed identity reflects Pierattelli Architetture’s vision of interior design: a dialogue between function and atmosphere, between material and light. It’s a domestic architecture that puts the inhabitants at the center, allowing space for time, objects, and memories.
The project is expressed through a constant interplay between architecture, interiors, furniture, and art. Numerous works of art—carefully selected by the clients, both independently and in collaboration with the studio—are dotted throughout the space. The home is ready to host a diverse collection of works, from established artists to emerging names, creating a visual narrative that continually evolves within the domestic setting.
Throughout the residence, pieces from leading Made in Italy brands coexist with functional fixed furnishings custom-designed by Pierattelli Architetture, including wardrobes, paneling, and bookshelves with integrated indirect lighting systems.
The result is an elegant and welcoming environment—free from excessive ornamentation—ensuring that the focus remains on the artworks and on the project’s central element: the lake.
