Santa Croce Apartment | Florence

PRIVATE RESIDENCE RENOVATION, 2022

Immersed in the timeless charm of Florence, this 80 m2 apartment has a harmonious design that embodies balanced studies of shapes and proportions, colours, materials and finishes. Pierattelli Architetture has given life to an interior project based on an idea of balance, where materials and colors in warm tones blend with design pieces to define interiors with a contemporary taste, where every detail finds the right space. An idea of elegance that also continues on the terrace, from which you can admire all the beauty of the Basilica of Santa Croce, one of the most prestigious symbols of the city.

The apartment opens onto a bright living area, with a semi-open kitchen, custom-designed by the architects. The original wooden floor was painted with a brush to obtain the chromatic effect of terracotta, referring to the warm tones of the earth and tradition and at the same time giving intensity and character to the spaces in contrast with the materiality of the wood of the Big dining table Table by Bonaldo and the equipped wall. The LT40 sideboard by Lema, with a geometric cherry-colored profile, contrasts with the lighter tones, tending towards ice, of the two-seater sofa by Bonaldo and the black chosen for the lighting, with the Aim suspension lamp, designed by the Bouroullec brothers for Flos to the Clash appliques by Penta Light.

The master bedroom, overlooking a small terrace, is distinguished by the ribbed wood boiserie that gives a sense of movement and a refined taste to the environment. The intense tone of brown, with its lighter shades, dialogues with furnishing accessories such as the wardrobe by Lema and the Ninfea desk by Zanellato/Bortotto for Novamobili, whose rounded shapes are also reflected in the silhouettes of the lamps, such as the one Mamì table lamp, by Penta Light, and a versatile piece like the Oblique, designed by Vincent Van Duysen for Flos. The bathroom is covered with glossy-effect surfaces from the Lume collection by Marazzi, while the furnishings and bathroom fixtures are by Ceramica Cielo, while the wall-mounted taps and fittings were designed by Pierattelli Architetture for IB Rubinetterie.

From the living room, the metal staircase covered in wood – under which a large wardrobe space has been created – leads to the guest room. The padding of the headboards of the bed, with graphic motifs in bright red, blue and white on Dedar fabric, gives character to the room, in which an icon such as the AM1N lamp stands out, designed by Franco Albini for Nemo Lighting. The living area leads to the terrace furnished with cherry-colored outdoor pieces from the Costes collection by Ethimo and illuminated by Real Matter wall lights, designed by Piero Lissoni for Flos.
