COME RISTRUTTURARE CASA | 10-2021
Light, color and geometry are the reference elements used to rethink this apartment in a 19th century mansion, using natural materials such as wood and stone, adding notes of color to warm the rooms and glazed elements that amplify the spaces.
The 70 sqm of the house are largely reserved for an open space around which the rooms and private spaces gravitate: the main bedroom, adjacent to the area
day room, with a bathtub located between it and the bathroom, and the mezzanine, obtained by exploiting the great height available on the top floor, where there is another bedroom with bathroom, the walk-in closet, the Turkish bath and other service areas and storage.
THE INTERVENTION
The apartment is part of a large condominium of 55 units, completely renovated, already complete with basic finishes that have been modified during the completion phase. The attic that covered the entire apartment was accessible only through a trap door; a full-width side portion was demolished to obtain a double-height space and an extra bedroom with Turkish bath, walk-in closet and bathroom, as well as a laundry area.
THE BATHROOMS
Just to the side of the bedroom threshold, the chocolate-toned parquet gives way to 2 cm thick Carrara marble slabs that continue into the bathroom, also covering the full-height walls. The bathtub, square in shape and placed at the foot of the bed, is made on site starting from a custom-made polyurethane foam structure, walled in and covered with slabs of the same marble, as is the bathroom above the mezzanine. In both bathrooms the wall-mounted taps are by Paffoni, the bathroom fixtures by Azzurra and the shower cubicles by Tamanaco; in the master bathroom the ceiling light is Glo Ball, in the other it is Compass Box, both by Flos.
The master bedroom is characterized by the ultramarine blue tone chosen for the walls around the Victoriano bed and for the fabrics, extended to the flush door to the side of which the open wardrobe module from the Open range is installed. Bed and wardrobe are by Lema, on the sides of the headboard two Glo Ball appliques by Flos.
THE SLEEPING AREA
The olive green hue, also recalled in the tiling of the adjacent Turkish bath, frames the headboard of the Park bed by Novamobili at the lowest point of the sloping ceiling, illuminated by the Kelvin Led lamps by Flos; on the sides, two Tie tables by Bonaldo perform the function of bedside tables. Through a hidden door between the wardrobes in the hallway you have access to a portion of the attic where the laundry area is installed.
