An ancient story, capable of reliving in the present. In the charm of generous spaces, local materials, decorated and frescoed ceilings that mix with contemporary reinterpretations, between author photographs and excellent design pieces. In Borgo San Frediano, a Florentine district of the Oltrarno elected among the coolest in the world, made up of narrow streets and small craft shops that intertwine with new bars, boutiques, bistros and restaurants, Pierattelli Architetture has given new life to a 240 m2 apartment with a restyling dedicated to a sense of elegant hospitality and
functional, capable of reflecting both the identity and the eclecticism of the place.

Warm and decisive colours, tailor-made artisan solutions and natural materials define large and bright spaces, where the neutral chromatic tones of the walls contrast with the nuances of the painted ceilings. The apartment tells a long story through important artistic pre-existences, such as the coffered ceilings and the frescoes that add value to the entire house. The house is characterized by the large living area, characterized by a living room interconnected with the kitchen and dining room dining room, and a more secluded sleeping area.

Characteristic element of the bedrooms, one master bedroom and the other reserved for guests, is the headboard in Canaletto walnut designed by Pierattelli Architetture which in both separates the sleeping area from a wardrobe space with functional chest of drawers. The apartment is completed by a study and two bathrooms using different types of travertine – classic for the master bathroom and blue moonlight for the guest bathroom – completely renovated by the architects. A steam bath is located on the second level, which can be accessed via a stone spiral staircase, an original feature of the apartment.

Throughout the house, Tuscan terracotta was kept on the floor, one of the oldest and most traditional materials, which with its reddish notes gives a sense of warmth to the rooms, while the artistic photographs of the French photographer Hervé Saint Helier are located in various ambients of the house.
