THE TYPICAL LOCAL CONTRY HOUSE HIDES INSIDE RATIONAL AND ECLECTIC ENVIRONMENTS, DESIGN ICONS AND ETHNIC SUGGESTIONS

In Tuscany, a former farmhouse from the first half of the twentieth century, nestled in the most authentic and pure countryside, was transformed into the major residence of a French family in search of peace and tranquility. In the renovation project, Pierattelli Architetture, in compliance with the mood that has always enlivened it, chose to respect the ancient character of the building in its outside features, maintaining the typical plastered facades and the pitched roof covering with tiles and roof tiles. Maison Ache has also kept inside the most interesting features of the original layout, which however include new functional environments overlooking the farmyard. The terracotta-tiled courtyard rests on the former lemon house, which was turned into a gym a well-kept hedge separates the structures from the infinity pool overlooking the valley.

The house is spread over three doors the first houses the sleeping area, the other twoare dedicated to shared life. The three levels are connected thanks to a spiral staircase made from serena stone, a material widely used in Tuscan and especially in Florence architecture. The local colors and traditions are recalled in the interior design, where terracotta doors evoke earth tones, the sandstone used for finishes and decorations stands out through a nonetheless understatedlook. Pieces of historical design and elements from far countries, memories of the family, alternate with custom-designed furnishing accessories, made by local craftsmen, in a mix of ethnic suggestions, charm of past times and contemporary atmosphere.
